Carillion Customer Experience Centre, Sheffield
Green Estate has been maintaining the grounds at the Carillion site in Sheffield’s Castlegate quarter since 2012 following completion of the landscape works by Green Estate. Originally the maintenance was largely grass mowing with the aim of presenting a tidy and welcoming appearance to the company’s visitors and public. The addition of an annual wildflower meadow enhanced the environment further and Green Estate incorporated its specialist meadow maintenance team into the grounds maintenance agreement. The outdoor space offers the opportunity for office staff to relax outside on lunch breaks in a high quality environment, and so is a significant asset to the company and its employees.
In 2014, after the successful establishment of annual wildflower meadows in 2012 and 2013 and overwhelming positive feedback from the public and its staff, Carillion commissioned Green Estate to create one of its perennial wildflower meadows in place of the annual meadow. The perennial meadow gives an extended flowering period and permanence to the scheme, not having to be re-sown and cultivated each year. Green Estate has maintained the site ever since, offering specialist meadow maintenance skills and an excellent standard of ongoing grounds maintenance. With 22 grass cuts throughout the year to ensure the highest standards are upheld.
